1. Show unconditional love . Your children are gifts. Don't put your issues on them. They have innocent hearts. 2. Setting boundaries/discipline - discipline meaning to teach, not punish. Children feel safer when they know they can't push past the limits. Sometimes they feel out of control and need to know you will be there to enforce the rules. 3. Teaching empathy for others and they're well being. How can you make someone else's life better? Teach them to ask this. 4. Teaching gratitude. 5. Showing kindness towards animals. This says so much about the character. 6. Teaching good manners and showing respect for others. Lead by example. Are you rude to the person who makes your coffee at Starbucks? Your child is watching you. 7. Don't overpraise, but give credit where it is due. 8. Pick your battles. 9. Read to your child and spend time with them.
